I´ve been lately invited at the launch of this film in Germany,

on the guest list due to my work.

Michael Glawogger has taken 5 years ( filming was just 30 days, building trust to be allowed to film took several years) to film different prostitution milieus in 3 different countries and 3 different religious settings:

• High-class prostitution in Bhuddist Thailand where prostitution due to the king is not existing
• a brothel town in Bangladesh, which is muslim and where prostitution is legalised since 2000 (even earlier than in Germany)
• the mix of prostitution, drugs and some kind of brute catholicism in the "zona" in Reynosa, Mexico

The movie is not showing a certain view or opinion on prostitution, but shows:

it is like this, and like this and like this and also sometimes like this.

He told that in this sometimes all cruel settings it is still fascinating for him to recognise (and to show in his movies) how people still keep being beautiful people.

The movie is also uncomfortable and if you can´t take naked bodies and "dirty talk" better don´t watch it. It´s certainly not "jugendfrei" (In mehrfacher Bedeutung des Wortes).

Otherwise I think I would recommend it, also because the music is for my taste very well chosen.
