In both books, the authors critisice how women don´t take responsibilities for their own lives and roles they are in. The fear, the missing guts, comfortability, the exit strategies that push the old role models or even accelerate in some cases a new sexism. 
I like the focus of these books. Kick the ass. Fight the fears. I´m all up for critisism of systemic oppression. But at the same time being the victim doesn´t help. It´s not empowering. If we don´t use what we have and be actively responsible, nothing´s gonna change.
